After Last week’s games it was evident that we needed to work on our tackling. It is something that must be constantly practiced in a controlled and safe environment. With this in mind we split the group up into smaller teams of equal tackling ability and size. The coaches then went through the techniques with each player and then let the players experience it one on one. This was then put into a game on smaller pitches. The best tackler on the day was Alexander. Alexander is one of our nippiest players in attack and showed great technique in tackling low and bringing down the big guys. Tackling below the ball with correct head placement was encouraged and Alexander displayed this throughout. Best Sportsman goes to another new comer in Jamie. He is a pleasure to coach and is getting his confidence up as each week passes. Jamie picks up on the game well and puts this into practice with good passing and running. He put in some great tackles too and like the rest of the squad has plenty more in him too!!
This week coming sees a stern test against Ballymena and Dromore at Shaw’s Bridge. The men will need to be on their game this week!!
